EVANS, Colo. – A man was hospitalized after an officer-involved shooting that happened in Evans early Saturday morning.
Police said officers responded to a disturbance near the 4000 block of Mariposa Lane at approximately 1:04 a.m. Saturday.
When they arrived at the scene, officers encountered an armed man and shots were fired, according to police.
An officer shot the suspect during the incident. The suspect, whose identity has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital to be treated or gunshot wounds, according to Evans police.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to a spokesman with the Evans Police Department. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the officer.
Both Evans and Greeley police continue to investigate the incident.
