DENVER – Good news for those who like to put off taxes until the last possible moment—you get two extra days to check your math, dot your I’s and cross your T’s.
You have until Tuesday, April 17, to get your return postmarked and on its way to Uncle Sam.
Why? Two reasons:
- April 15 falls on a Sunday, so the post office is closed.
- Monday is Emancipation Day, a holiday in Washington D.C. celebrating the freeing of slaves in the district.
