DENVER -- A Denver neighborhood has called for action after they say a spike in after-school fights is taking over their streets.
Every couple of weeks, Park Hill residents say dozens of Denver East High School students gather in alleys to watch each other fight.
Beth Ferrier said it looks like something out of a movie. "This whole entire alley was filled and this was a whole big fight scene. And on top of the garage were well over 50 kids..."
Ferrier said she has tried talking to school administrators. But DPS officials can't be sure it's even students who are involved.
So neighbors have turned to the city, complaining about damage to fences, windows and lights.
They do say police have increased their presence in the area when school lets out. The hope is that helps put a stop to the well-attended fights.
