SEATTLE — A 28-year-old woman has been charged with rape after allegedly breaking into a man’s apartment and forcing herself on him as he slept.
Chantae Gilman allegedly sexually assaulted her neighbor in 2013. The victim underwent a sexual assault exam at the time, but the samples were apparently not analyzed until this month, the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported. The DNA results allegedly tie Gilman to the incident.
The man told police he’d gone to sleep following a party and woke up to Gilman on top of him, the paper said. The man demanded she get off of him, but she allegedly refused and told him to be quiet, a detective told the newspaper.
According to charging papers, the victim was able to work his way out from under the 240-pound woman and push her out of the apartment.
The man said didn’t know the woman but recognized her as a “drug user in the area.” Gilman reportedly said she didn’t recall the night in question.
