RANDLEMAN, N.C. — Sherri Hastings was driving on a highway in North Carolina Saturday morning, when she began recording her drive after the SUV in front of her was driving erratically.
The car stops and weaves several times, in the video Hastings recorded and sent to WGHP.
The video is titled “road rage terrorizes child 3:00 min mark” and it was posted to YouTube Monday.
In the video you can hear Hastings said, “Wish I had another phone, somebody call 911”
Her daughter in the backseat asked, “Mama why?”
“Because this person in front of me is being a real character. She tried to slam into me when we were going through the 35 mph speed zone,” she replied.
At the 3:00 minute mark the car Hastings in driving behind, stops and the driver gets out.
Then, the driver violently approached Hastings’ car, the daughter began crying and mom yelled “Stop it!”
Hastings sent the video to WGHP with this description:
“I knew what was going to happen. I wanted it on tape. Twice the lady tried to pass me on a two-lane road with double lines on a hill. She about ran me off road first time. She got behind me a second time and then went to go around again. I let her have the road, called 911, reported her and her plate number… I started phone video which was in a holder on dashboard — hands free.”
The violent woman was arrested and charged with reckless driving to endanger, assault and battery, injury to personal property, driving left of center and two counts of communicating threats, according to WGHP.
