FLORENCE, Colo. — An inmate being held at the maximum security federal prison in Florence has filed a paternity claim against the estate of Prince, claiming the late pop star is his biological father.
Calvin Q. Williams of Kansas City, Mo., is seeking a DNA test, according to a filing with Carver County District Court. In an affidavit included with the filing, Williams’ mother, Marsha Henson, said she had sex with Prince in July 1976 and gave birth to her son in April 1977.
Williams’ attorney, Patrick Cousins, of West Palm Beach, Fla., told The Associated Press on Tuesday that his client is imprisoned in Florence after pleading guilty in 2013 to unlawfully transporting a firearm. He is serving a sentence of seven years and eight months.
