LOS ANGELES — The head of the AMC theater chain is considering allowing moviegoers to text during films.
Talking with entertainment industry magazine Variety, AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron said the change could appeal to millennials, who are going out to fewer movies.Aron said he wants to find a plan that wouldn’t disturb everyone who wants to watch a movie in peace.
He told Variety that AMC might make some auditoriums “texting friendly.” A less likely scenario would be to create texting areas inside each theater, he said.
