MILLINGTON, Tenn. — A recruiter who worked for the National Guard who was reportedly fired returned to work Thursday afternoon and shot two fellow guardsmen.

The shooting happened at the recruiting station at a suburban Memphis armory.

WREG-TV reported the shooter used a handgun to shoot two people, one in the leg and another in the foot.

The shooter was taken into custody by other guardsmen, the a U.S. Navy spokesman said.

The armory is on property leased to the Guard by the U.S. Navy, which has its personnel and recruiting commands across the road. The Navy compound was on lockdown after the shooting, the lockdown has since been lifted, the service reported via Twitter.
