ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — An out-of-control semi-truck appeared to be the cause of a multi-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Englewood.
The semi was westbound on Hampden Avenue near S. Clarkson Street about 4 p.m. when the driver suffered some sort of medical condition and started hitting cars, police on the scene said. The semi crashed through a pole and onto a grassy area between two apartment buildings.
A total of 13 vehicles were caught up in the collision. No serious injuries were reported, but four people, including the semi driver, were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
The area remained closed while officials cleaned up wreckage and leaking diesel fuel. It was all reopened around 9 p.m.
