SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — Westbound Interstate 70 was closed just east of Silverthorne after a moving truck caught fire on Sunday, Lake Dillon Fire-Rescue said.

Officials said the truck suffered a mechanical malfunction as it was coming down the interstate from the Eisenhower Tunney and burst into flames along the highway near mile marker 209.

No one was injured, but the truck and all of its contents were destroyed.

Traffic was rerouted on U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass until the interstate could be reopened.
