PUEBLO, Colo. — Deputies are investigating after a mother, her daughter and two dogs were found dead in a home, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators said it appears 42-year-old Jennifer Hamula and 10-year-old Stephie Hamula were found shot to death at a home in the 1000 block of Mescal Drive after deputies conducted a welfare check.

The official cause of death is pending the outcome of autopsies. The two dogs were were also found shot dead, the sheriff’s office said.

“This is a very tragic situation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor said in a news release.

“We will continue to follow the evidence to determine the sequence of events and the circumstances surrounding these tragic deaths.”
