Monte Vista police investigate gas station robbery

MONTE VISTA, Colo. — Officers responded to reports of a burglary at a Monte Vista gas station Monday night.

At about 10 p.m. Monday, the Monte Vista Police Department was called to Wright Valley Oil gas station and convenience market at 605 1st Ave. in Monte Vista regarding a robbery, according to police.

When officers arrived on scene, they learned that two men, who were dressed in black and wore masks, entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.

Police said the suspects then fled the store on foot.

There were no reports of any visible weapons, added law enforcement.

Following the incident, detectives canvased the vicinity.
