DENVER -- Rent prices across the Denver metro area have skyrocketed in the past year. Depending on who you talk to, rent prices have increased 6.9 percent since August 2014.

By comparison, the national average has seen rents go up just 2.3 percent. So what's a renter to do in the Mile High City?
