BOULDER, Colo. — Walmart is opening a Neighborhood Market store in Boulder Wednesday and locals opposed to the giant retailer are planning an “unwelcome party” in response.

According to the Daily Camera, the store on Iris Avenue in the Diagonal Plaza will be the site of a day-long protest organized by the Coalition for Social & Environmental Responsibility.

The protest is expected to be a positive event. There are no plans to shame customers or protest inside the store, the newspaper reported.

The general manager of the store told the Camera they are aware of the protest but believe the store will be a benefit to the community.
