DENVER — A Marine who had to miss his brother’s wedding because he is stationed in Afghanistan was able to deliver the best man speech from the cockpit of a Harrier jet while flying over Afghanistan.
Capt. Matthew Krivohlavy with Marine Attack Squadron 231 delivered the speech through a series of flash cards.
The video was posted to YouTube and Reddit.
Krivohlavy wrote “I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the both of you,” and said his future sister-in-law is “very beautiful and exceptionally sweet.”
The pilot wrote some words of advice as well, saying “Just remember, marriage is a journey. There will be ups and downs, so make the best of it and go nuts together.”
He finished the tribute by doing a barrel roll and waved goodbye.
Accroding to the Reddit post, Krivohlavy’s brother, Brandon, said “Everyone in the room was either crying or completely speechless. It was a very moving movement for everyone there.”
