DENVER — A man was injured while doing a jet pack demonstration Friday morning at Go Fast Sports & Beverage Co., the Denver Fire Department said.

The incident at 2600 W. Eighth Ave. happened just before 9:30 a.m.

The incident started a small fire and a hazardous materials team was sent to the scene.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet or safety gear, was taken to Denver Health with head burn injuries. He has not been identified. He is in stable condition, the Denver Police Department said.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been called out to help in the investigation.

The Appolo Jet Pack has made appearances for more than nine years, and has been featured at major sporting events, including the Olympics.

It also has been used in numerous high-profile public demonstrations.
