BOULDER, Colo. — Two men were arrested after another man was fatally shot at a mobile home park on Friday morning, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to the shooting in the 4400 block of Broadway at 8:15 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. Dispatchers received multiple reports of shots being fired at Ponderosa Mobile Home Park.
The victim, 31-year-old Andrew Duncan, was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but later died. Police described Duncan as a transient in the Boulder area.
Based on the investigation and interviews conducted with witnesses, the sheriff’s office arrested two people and transported them to the Boulder County Jail.
Cody Nelson, 51, was arrested for first-degree murder and prohibited use of a weapon. Miriam Nayeh, 31, was arrested for accessory to first-degree murder and domestic violence.
Shining Mountain Waldorf School was placed on lockout as detectives investigated but it was later lifted.
Heavy law enforcement was in the area during the investigation and there was a period that residents were asked to remain inside their homes. That restriction was later lifted but deputies asked residents to avoid the area where the shooting took place.
The sheriff’s office and the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the case.
