KEENESBURG, Colo. —  Weld County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Thursday night on an attempted kidnapping charge after he later asked a homeowner if he could stay the night because the police were after him.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office says Jameq Hill of Keenesburg approached a woman as she was out walking, and tried to cover her mouth and pull her into an alley on Main Street.

The woman was able to get away and ran to a neighbor’s house for help. The sheriff’s office says Hill then went to another residence and asked the homeowner if he could stay the night.

The homeowner closed the door and called 911. Sheriff’s deputies then captured Hill and booked him into the Weld County Jail.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Weld county Sheriff’s Office at 970-356-4015 ext. 2825.
