DENVER -- A man was shot in the leg early Friday morning in the Five Points neighborhood, the Denver Police Department said.

The shooting happened about 4 a.m. in the 2800 block of Welton Street. Police said the man, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police have not released any suspect information but said they are looking for a black four-door sedan. No license plate or a better description were released.

Two vehicles were hit by gunfire in the area. A Nissan had a bullet hole through the driver-side door. And an Uber vehicle was hit, with a bullet going through the rear driver side and exiting through the back window.

The shooting affected an RTD light rail line. RTD said all D lines going to the 30th and Downing Station will stop at the 27th and Welton Station as police investigate the shooting.

A bus bridge was set up to transfer passengers between the stations until the light rail line reopened at 7:45 a.m.
