DENVER — A man is in custody after police said he broke into a house and then ran through Gov. Hickenlooper’s yard on Saturday.

The suspect reportedly broke into a garage on the 800 block of Pearl St., which is very close to the governor’s mansion located on 8th Ave. and Logan St.

The homeowner called police and the suspect took off, according to Denver police.

The man was later found hiding inside a law firm between Pearl St. and Pennsylvania St. He threatened to kill himself with a knife, but then surrendered to police.

The suspect was handcuffed and taken to Denver Health after appearing to have cut himself after breaking a window.
