AURORA, Colo. — Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds Sunday morning.

Police responded to shots fired in the 1100 block of Yosemite Street at approximately 5:15 a.m.

Officers from Denver and Aurora police departments arrived at the scene to find a male lying in the street on E. 12th Ave., just west of Yosemite. The man was suffering from gunshot wounds, and was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

“Denver police detectives started the investigation. However the investigation revealed that the man was actually shot in Aurora, but was able to walk across the street into Denver before collapsing,” said Sgt. Cassidee Carlson with Aurora police.

Aurora police and crime scene investigators then took over the investigation.

Carlson said the victim may have been at a party in the area before he was shot. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, but no arrests have been made.

The victim’s condition has not been released.

If you have any information about this crime, you are asked to call Detective Mark Yacano (303) 739-6090.
