DENVER — A man who was convicted in two different cold case sexual was sentenced to nearly 100 years in prison Friday.
Warren Foster, 47, sexually assaulted an 18-year-old in 1998. The young woman had just arrived in Denver and she was trying to find her friend’s home when Foster offered her a ride.
The Denver District Attorney’s office also said he sexually assaulted a 27-year-old woman in 2000. Foster again committed the crime after offering her a ride.
The cases were linked by a case-to-case DNA match in 2011.
Foster was charged in the cases at that time, but he was serving a sentence in New Mexico for sexual assault and was not brought back to Denver until 2014.
A jury convicted him for the crimes in March.
A statement Friday said the conviction and lengthy sentence is the result of “dedicated work by Denver’s Cold Case Project.”
