DENVER – A 51-year-old man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for sexually assaulting three of his children in Denver over nearly two decades.

David Tarver was convicted in January of multiple counts of sexual assault on a child and aggravated incest.

He was sentenced Friday in Denver District Court to 88 years to life in prison.

“Tarver sexually assaulted at least three of his children over the course of many years, dating back to the late 1980s,” said Denver District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough. “The victims reported the alleged incidents after Tarver was arrested in January 2010, in Wyoming for sexually assaulting a grandchild there.”

Tarver was also convicted in Wyoming and will begin serving his prison sentence there, Kimbrough said.
