DENVER — A 23-year-old man who allegedly killed his girlfriend’s kitten during an argument will face a felony charge, Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey’s office said Tuesday.

Andres Sanchez-Luevano was charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals, the DA’s office said.

The charge alleges that on Nov. 17, Sanchez-Luevano was arguing with his girlfriend when he picked up her 1-month-old kitten and threw it to the floor. The kitten suffered fatal injuries.

Sanchez-Luevano has been released on $5,000 bond. He will appear in Denver County Court today.
