Man dies after hitting tree while skiing at Keystone Resort

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — A 60-year-old man died Thursday after a hitting a tree while skiing at Keystone Resort.

The victim, identified by the Summit County Coroner’s Office as Lee Hurley of Charlotte, N.C., died  because of blunt force trauma.

He lost control on an intermediate run about 4:40 p.m. Thursday and then hit the tree. Ski Patrol responded to transport Hurley to a clinic, but he died.

He was visiting on a ski vacation with his family.
