LONGMONT, Colo. — Police in Longmont were seeking Wednesday a man they believe damaged more than 100 cemetery headstones in at least four separate incidents.

John Heston, 19, is a suspect in more than $20,000 worth of vandalism committed at Mountain View Cemetery between June 29 and Aug. 10, the Longmont Police Department said. He is thought to be staying in the Longmont area with friends or possibly camping along the St. Vrain River.

Police also identified a 21-year-old man and six teenagers who had some involvement in the vandalism. They will be referred to a “restorative” program that encourages offenders to take responsibility for their actions and develop constructive relationships with victims.
