3-acre wildfire near First Flatiron 50 percent contained

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Emergency crews responded to a wildfire in Gregory Canyon near the First Flatiron in Boulder County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said multiple agencies responded to the fire, which was estimated to be about 2 to 3 acres in size and burning on open space land.

Flagstaff Road was closed in both directions from Sixth Street to Mile Marker 5.

No homes or structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered. No injuries were reported.

The fire was 50 percent contained by 9:15 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
