DPD: Teenager killed in Montbello, brother arrested

DENVER — A teenage female was killed in Montbello, the Denver Police Department said Thursday afternoon. Her brother has been arrested on investigation of first-degree murder.

Shortly before 1 p.m., DPD said it was conducting a death investigation in the 5000 block of Troy Street. Eight minutes later, police said the case was being investigated as a homicide.

Staff at Montbello Career and Technical High School confirms 17-year-old Marnee Kelley-Mills is the victim in this homicide.

About 8 p.m., DPD said the victim’s brother, 25-year-old Darsean Kelly, had been arrested.

No other suspects are being sought, police said.
