WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — The all-clear was given after a suspicious package outside Lutheran Medical Center was found to be empty, the Wheat Ridge Police Department said Wednesday.

Police responded to the hospital at 8300 W. 38th Avenue about 12:30 p.m. Hospital staff cleared people out of the area.

About 2 p.m., a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad approached the package on a bench and found it to be empty when it was opened.

The hospital went off lockdown and police cleared the scene just before 3 p.m. No injuries were reported.
