BOULDER, Colo. -- Firefighters and police officers responded to investigate a report of an explosion at a home in south Boulder late Thursday night.

The Boulder Police Department said it happened about 8:35 p.m. in the 4600 block of Macky Way.

Two adults were in the house and were taken by a neighbor to Boulder Community Health with serious injuries, officials said.

The explosion is believed to be drug related, officials said.

"It felt kinda like a bomb had gone off," a neighbor said. "Came out and saw smoke coming out of their house."

Boulder Fire and Rescue said a dog and a cat were able to get out of the house OK.
