One dead, one sought after officer-involved in shooting at Park Meadows mall

LONE TREE, Colo. — One person was killed and another person is at-large following an officer-involved shooting at Park Meadows mall in Lone Tree on Thursday night, the Lone Tree Police Department said.

It happened around 8:20 p.m. when officers received a call of a theft at the Macy’s store, police said.

When officers attempted to arrest the suspects, police said there was a short foot chase and the male suspect showed a handgun and officers shot the suspect who was killed at the scene.

A second suspect, believed to be a woman, fled on foot and remains at large, police said.

Police said that the officers involved suffered minor injuries but no bystanders were hurt.

The incident remains under investigation and Lone Tree police said there is no longer a threat to the public.
