NORTHGLENN, Colo. — The suspect in an officer-involved shooting in Northglenn was killed at the scene, police said Saturday night.
The incident happened at a Metro PCS store near Malley Drive and Washington Street.
About 6 p.m., the Westminster Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team along with Safe Streets Task Force told the Northglenn Police Department they were looking for a wanted party near the cellphone store.
Just after 6:30 p.m., Northglenn officers were advised of shots fired in the area, police said.
When Westminster and Safe Streets officers tried to contact the suspect, he displayed a weapon and officers fired at him.
The cellphone store’s manager said the suspect walked inside the store and purchased a phone. As he was leaving, police approached and the shooting followed.
No officers were injured.
