DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Zoo announced Wednesday that its first-ever female greater one-horned rhino was born.

13-year-old Tensing gave birth to her first calf on Saturday morning.

The zoo’s animal care team said Tensing and her calf are doing well.

The calf will remain behind scenes for at least 6 to 8 weeks to bond with her mother, according to the zoo.
