CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- A man was wounded in a shooting at a gas station outside a King Soopers in Castle Rock Tuesday evening.

The Castle Rock Police Department says the shooting was reported about 7 p.m.

The King Soopers is located on North Ridge Road just southeast of its intersection with Fifth Street.

The wounded man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. He is 25 years old.

CRPD says there is no known threat to the community. However, no arrests have been made and three suspects are at large.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police provided a picture of the suspects, who are described as two Hispanic men and one white man. All are believed to be in their mid-20s.

"Detectives have determined there was an altercation between the victim and the suspects that led to the victim being shot once in the upper body," CRPD said in a press release.

Ridge Road is closed between the shopping center and Enderud Boulevard.

Police are looking for an early 2000s-model maroon SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban or similar.

"At this point, it is uncertain what led to this shooting," CRPD said.

Anyone with information is asked to call CRPD: 303-663-6100. Police said people should not approach the suspects.
