BRIGHTON, Colo. (KDVR) — Police in Brighton are investigating a shooting that left a man and a woman dead.

According to the Brighton Police Department, officers were called to the 300 block of Dogwood Avenue at 1:09 a.m. Friday on reports of a shooting.

Dispatchers received a call from a man who was requesting assistance before he disconnected. Moments later, dispatchers received another call from a neighbor who said that two adults needed medical attention.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man and a female suffering from gunshot wounds. According to BPD, a 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers immediately began administrating CPR to the 28-year-old woman before she was transported to a nearby hospital. She was pronounced dead at around 2 a.m.
