DENVER -- A man was killed and another man was wounded in a double shooting late Monday night, the Denver police Department said.

The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. at East 20th Avenue and Clarkson Street in the Five Points neighborhood.

Both men were taken to a hospital where one of them was pronounced dead. The other man is being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police said they are searching for a suspect but had no description information. No arrests have been made.

A large perimeter was in place stretching a few blocks from the scene of the shooting.

Dozens of evidence markers lined 20th Avenue and several bullet holes were seen on the outside of a home where a neighbor said a family with two children lives.

The scene was cleared just after 7 a.m.

The names and ages of both men were not released.

What led to the shooting is under investigation.
