Father and son wounded in shooting in Conifer; 1 suspect taken into custody, 2 others on the run

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A father and son were wounded in a shooting in Conifer Thursday night.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in the 11000 block of Blackfoot Road.

Both the father and son were taken to the hospital. The sheriff’s office says their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The sheriff’s office says three suspects — one white male and two black males — were involved in the shooting.

Early Friday morning, one of the suspects was taken into custody. The sheriff’s office says they are still searching for two black men, but they don’t believe they are in the Conifer area anymore. No specific suspect description has been released.

A number of law enforcement agencies are searching for the suspects.

The shelter in place was lifted around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning.

It is unknown whether the suspects know the victims.
