GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — The Colorado Department of Transportation says Interstate 70 is back open after a semi fire.

The fire happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday. The Colorado State Patrol said the driver of the semi was seriously injured.

The Garfield County Emergency Communication Authority said the closure extended from Dotsero to Glenwood Springs.

CSP said a lane of westbound I-70 remains closed as hazardous materials crews work to clean up fuel spilled during the crash. The lane could remain closed for several hours.
