Crews fight 2-alarm fire at fire station under construction in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at a fire station that was under construction Wednesday evening.

South Metro Fire Rescue said four units were assisting at the scene near E-470 and East Jewell Avenue.

An Aurora Fire Department spokesman said crews were working to control the fire at the new Fire Station No. 15. It was still burning after 6 p.m.

There were no injuries.

The investigation into what started the fire was just beginning Wednesday night.
