The Denver Police Department says more than 50 vehicles were involved. It described the incident as “weather-related.” DPD says injuries were reported. However, none of them are life-threatening. A tow driver at the scene said an overpass had a thin layer of ice. A woman involved in the crash said visibility was also an issue. She says by the time she crested a hill and saw the backup, she could not stop in time. Sixth Avenue reopened just before midnight Thursday.
