CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — A woman was arrested Friday and accused in the death of a 23-month-old girl in Conejos County, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Denise Cordova, 47, was taken into custody by the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation began after the girl was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries on Jan. 31. She later died.

The girl was in the care of babysitter Cordova at the time of the incident, CBI said.
