Passenger killed, driver severely injured during early morning crash in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department says one person was killed and another critically injured in a crash early Monday morning.

The crash was reported around 3 a.m. near E. Hampden Avenue, between S. Tower Road and S. Biscay Street.

The crash involved one vehicle. The passenger of which was ejected as the car hit a tree, went airborne and hit a light post. This passenger, who has only been identified as a male juvenile, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Aurora police said the driver was also a juvenile.

Investigators believe high speeds were a factor in this crash.
