LOVELAND, Colo. (KDVR) — One man is dead and a 16-year-old boy has been hospitalized after a shooting at an apartment complex late Friday night. As of Saturday morning, those responsible are still at large.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Friday night, officers with the Loveland Police Department responded to a weapons complaint at Brookstone Apartment Complex, located in the area of 2500 East 1st St., where multiple shots had been reportedly fired.

According to LPD, when they arrived at the complex, they located an 18-year-old man in the parking lot where he was declared dead a short time later by fire and medical personnel.

Shortly after discovering the initial victim, officers found a 16-year-old boy on the other side of the apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is now in stable condition.

Investigators have identified a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with tinted windows, photographed above, as a suspect vehicle in this case.

The vehicle is believed to have entered the apartment complex from the east entrance before sliding into a second vehicle that belonged to the 16-year-old victim.

A verbal altercation unfolded which led up to the shooting of the 16-year-old. LPD’s investigation indicates there are three suspects in this shooting, two of whom have been described as young men.

After the 16-year-old was shot, two suspects exited the Dodge Ram before getting into the victim’s vehicle and exiting the apartment complex while following the Dodge Ram.
