BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- The Legacy High School community came together Thursday night for a homecoming block party.

It turned into a fundraiser for the students, coaches and families affected by the bus crash at Denver International Airport on Sunday. It was also a time to remember the bus driver who was killed in the crash.

A huge crowd gathered outside the school for the block party. It wasn't just about raising school spirit, but also raising money.

"The community has been great. Everyday that you come in there's somebody else that's coming to help out. It's too bad everything happened but we will be making the best of it," Legacy teacher Douglas Dietle said.

The football team will play its homecoming game Friday night at North Stadium against Prairie View. It is FOX31's game of the week.
