THORNTON, Colo. — Smoke was visible from a large fire reported in the area of East 136th Avenue and Quebec Street in Thornton on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters from numerous agencies responded and were initially working on structure protection.

Flames approached one neighborhood, but firefighters worked hard to keep the flames from getting too close to homes.

One air drop was made to help bring the fire under control.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it caused any damage.
