Lakewood police respond to attempted suicide at golf course

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Officers responded to an attempted suicide a Fox Hollow Golf Course on Sunday morning, the Lakewood Police Department said.

People reported hearing a gunshot or gunshots about 7:30 a.m.

The far east side of the golf course was evacuated and locked down, according to Ty Countryman with Lakewood police.

The man shot himself but was still alive and transported to a hospital at about 9 a.m., Countryman said.

Countryman said there was no other shooter and no one else was shot.

The lockdown on the golf course was lifted about 9 a.m.
