DENVER -- A fundraiser is set for Sunday for 59-year-old Bill Brown, who is about to be placed on a waiting list for a double-lung transplant at University of Colorado Hospital.

For a $10 donation, dinner will be served at the Carpenter Recreation Center in Thornton off of E. 112th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.

The fundraiser runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Sunday is also the day for the annual “Donor Dash,” which helps raise awareness for organ donation in hopes of getting more people on the state donor registry.

The run/walk takes in place in Denver’s Washington Park.
