LONGMONT, Colo. — Kristen O’Brien’s Longmont home was among the hardest hit by last month’s flooding.

She says rising water flooded her basement. The damage was so bad, she needed new drywall.

On Friday, O’Brien received unexpected help from the Headwaters Relief Organization, which is based out of Minnesota. The volunteer organization travels the country, mostly after floods, to help with the recovery process.

O’Brien said her husband bought the drywall, and Headwaters is doing the rest. The organization has also been helping with relief efforts in Jamestown and Lyons.
