ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. -- The State Patrol was investigating a head-on crash that was the result of street racing Friday night. Police were looking for a motorcycle and its rider that was involved in the race and left the scene of the crash.
Colorado State Patrol spokesman Cpl. Heath Griscavage says six people went to the hospital.
The Colorado State Patrol says a Volvo S40 and the motorcycle were racing on northbound Federal Boulevard when the Volvo lost control, spun around and got into the path of a Nissan Altima at West 54th Avenue.
There were reports of people ejected from the vehicles and other victims required extrication.
Griscavage says there were four people in the Nissan and two people in the Volvo. Witnesses also reported the Volvo and motorcycle were going at very high rates of speed.
He also said no one had a description of the motorcycle or its rider because it was going so fast. It continued heading northbound on Federal Boulevard.
Federal was closed in both directions while the State Patrol conducted its investigation.
