DENVER — Half of the 118 Havanese dogs, found living in filthy conditions in a home near Watkins, are being adopted by dog-lovers along the Front Range.
The dogs were taken from the home July 9 as their owner decided they were too much to handle.
The pups were all living inside, their coats were matted and they were simply being kept in the worst possible conditions according to officials. Now, after ten days of TLC at the Dumb Friends League the pooches are beginning to find new homes.
John and Bri decided to take Lucy home and Peggy Pareles from Pueblo took Pixie south… Lori Sabian took a pair of the pups home as well. The DFL has half of the 118 pups, the other half are in the Adams County Animal Shelter.
DFL indicates if you want to adopt, you should meet the following requirements: already have another dog or pet at home, have a yard for the pups to learn how to live outdoors, and they request you have no young children as the dogs have had little human interaction.
The Dumb Friends League is at 2080 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80231, (303) 751-5772
